The Social Impact Student Leadership Program

The Social Impact Student Leadership Program (5th grade through 12th grade) collaborates with teachers, administrators, community members, students, and parents to create an equitable custom project-based curriculum that fits the needs of each population. The student leadership program is a coaching approach to teaching. Educators mentor and coach students through needs assessments, data collection, ideation, project management, and implementation. Through a growth mindset, students learn to problem solves social and community issues and then create sustainable projects to create a solution.

The Program cultivates youth leadership and community engagement, which fits the whole-child approach to the Community Schools framework set by the California Department of Education. COVID-19 has created a gap for students. This program supports students' social, emotional, cultural, and community development.
